Start with the selected material
EcoEnclose describes its selected kraft paper as a versatile wrapping and void-fill material. The 30# option is 24 in wide with 1200 listed feet, SKU PRK24-30, and the observed selected price is $39. That identifies an actual product and quantity. It does not establish how much paper a particular shipped object needs or provide an independent protection rating.
Define the empty-space problem
Void fill addresses unused space around contents. Surface wrapping and cushioning ask related but different questions. A paper layer can separate surfaces without supplying an established impact result, and a crumpled-paper quantity cannot be inferred from the outside box volume alone. Record the item, the actual inside box dimensions and the intended role before comparing materials.
Do not invent a protection grade
The supplier publishes protection language, but we have not packed, tested or shipped a product with these papers. There is no measured drop height, compression threshold or damage rate in this reference. A generic photograph of an open parcel is not a passed package test. A low cost per foot cannot supply evidence that a fragile item is adequately protected.
A procurement record that helps
For a purchasing shortlist, keep exact paper grade, width, length, basis and selected SKU together. Ask the supplier about a relevant sample and any actual requirements for the complete pack-out. Then measure your own chosen material use for budgeting. The roll planner accepts that chosen length as an assumption; it does not recommend a protective amount or turn a paper roll into a universal shipping solution.
Write the role before the quantity
A useful pack-out worksheet can have separate rows for filling free space, separating two surfaces and wrapping an individual object. Do not put one unspecified paper amount beside all three tasks. Identify which part of the proposed configuration the selected kraft paper would serve, and which other components or requirements remain unresolved. That makes a supplier discussion more precise without pretending the worksheet is a performance test.
A hypothetical comparison
Suppose one proposed process uses plain kraft only in an empty side space while another also wraps each item. Their total lengths answer different configurations. A lower-footage process is not automatically more efficient if it omits a required role. We have not measured either configuration; the example shows why price per roll alone cannot decide the completed-pack question.
Measure use in a consistent way
If you later observe your own process, record whether length was measured before crumpling and whether every paper component was included. Keep the selected grade and width with that method. An average from another box or a different material basis should not silently become the consumption input for this roll. The site supplies no measured average for your operation.
Ask a bounded supplier question
Name the object, box and intended paper role when asking for product information. A request for a sample or relevant evidence is more specific than asking whether paper is safe for everything. Obtain the actual selected material identity and any applicable limitations. No seller response or completed sample exercise is claimed by this reference.
Keep the order decision separate
After the material requirement is established, you can use the actual 39-dollar 30#offer and its 1200 ft declaration to budget a chosen length. Save that calculation with the requirement and source date. If the protection question remains unanswered, the purchasing arithmetic can remain useful while the configuration is still unverified; do not label it approved from the size of the subtotal.
